David K. Hasan

David K. Hasan is President and CEO of the National Muslim Business Council, (NMBC), an organization that was established to promote and teach both business and economic development strategies. 

Mr. Hasan has been in business for over 30 years and, as an entrepreneur, has managed several businesses and received many honors and awards for outstanding business achievements. 

Mr. Hasan has many accolades and achievements within the business world. He was a member of the Small Business Council of President Barack Obama. He was instrumental in the opening of the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville, Kentucky. He was appointed by the Governor of North Carolina to the Business Round Table, and has served on many boards to include the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce, and the Advisory Board for Early Childhood Education for Fayetteville Technical Community College. He also served as the Vice Chair of the Cumberland County Joint Planning Board in Fayetteville, North Carolina. 

In 1987, David Hasan, led the community in building the first mosque from the ground up in North Carolina. Masjid Omar Ibn Sayyid,  the Islamic mosque named after a Muslim Scholar from Africa, who escaped from slavery in South Carolina but later caught and imprisoned in Fayetteville, has been a historical monument in the Muslim community for over 35 years. 

 

Along with his many business endeavors, David Hasan is a family man who is married to NMBC International Business Director,  Sis. Barbara Baseemah Calhoun. He has 6 children, whom all are business owners and entrepreneurs, and multiple grandchildren.
